Whilst conducting safety audits, information, suggestions and feedback is provided to the construction personnel on site which enhances and improves their awareness of safe work practices. In addition, SSAV clients and their supervisors/foremen have access to our auditors at any time to seek information and/or guidance on occupational health and safety matters.

Further to this we have additional services that deliver tailored information sessions to your workforce or selected trades to ensure that they are up to date with all safety aspects pertaining to their jobs on site. Whilst some workers will display attitudes of disinterest at the thought of participating in safety training, our sessions are designed to be relevant, to the point and engaging.

These sessions can be delivered to your construction personnel during business, after hours or on weekends. Some areas that could be addressed are:

What to do in the event of an injury. Whilst many workers have first aid accreditation, could they deal with an accident or incident that involved?

• Asthma attack
• Diabetes episode due to insulin deficiency
• Finding an unconscious worker

“MANUAL HANDLING”

With approximately 65% of WorkCover claims resulting from injuries associated with manual handling, it may be an opportune time to talk, create awareness amongst your workforce, and inform them of the correct practices and procedures.  Injuries that can result from bad or incorrect practices and procedures include:

• Muscle sprains and strains
• Back injuries
• Soft tissue injuries
• Chronic pain
